Fern Empowerment Foundation (FEF) non-governmental organisation has held the second edition of the empowerment session for BECE students.
The target for this initiative in 2021 were BECE students in Sikor D/A Basic School in the Volta Region.
The event which took place on 5th November 2021 saw the entire community including chiefs, parents, teachers and students participating in this initiative.
As part of activities under this initiative, Fern provided basic items such as mathematical sets and stationery to assist the students in their examinations.
The event was climaxed with a career guidance session where students were encouraged not to give up on their dreams and aspirations.
Additionally, final year students were prepped and provided pre-examination counselling ahead of the BECE examination.
Project Director, Emmanuel Asare, speaking at the event said: “We are glad the school opened its door to us to encourage the students of the school. We believe the talk on career development will help them in choosing the right career path for their future.
Head Teacher of the school Mr Godson Agbemakplido in his remarks themed the day as a historical event first of a kind in the school and to the community.
“We wish to express our profound gratitude to the Foundation and we hope other beneficial deeds could ensue in the school to improve the quality of education,” he added.
The visit to the Sikor D/A Basic School is the second of its kind after the Foundation made its first visit to the Survive School Complex in Adenta-Frafraha.
The session with Survive School Complex was aimed at inspiring students through prayer and positive affirmations, contributing to a calmness of heart and mind in the turbulent times of COVID-19 before writing their examinations.
